Ever since he watched his Uncle Zeke play on the stage in the early 90’s, Mike was instantly hooked to music. Mike has been playing drums since the age of four and is still just as passionate about it now as he was then. Live music has had such an impact on his life that he had hoped one day, he would be able to stand on the same stage with his uncle. In 2013, that dream became a reality when Mike was invited to play drums with the Marshall Law Band. Mike achieved his Bachelor of Science degree in Music Technology from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, where he disciplined himself to learn his craft. During his studies, he became more versatile as a musician, learning piano, bass, guitar, and voice. These experiences have lead Mike to perform with professional musicians all over the state of Ohio.
They say “if the lead player doesn’t know, it you can’t play it”. That’s never been a problem when you have Kary on lead guitar. He knows more songs than most people have ever heard. Pickin’ since he was 5 years old, he started his first band in 7th grade. Since then, he has worked with some of the top bands around, such as The Believers, Rainbow Glaze, Full House, Southwind, Raisin’ Cane, Big Trouble and The Boot Band. He has not only opened for, but worked with some of the major entertainers of our time, including Roger Martin, Michael Stanley, Gary Morris, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Clint Black and Tracy Byrd, just to name a few. So when you’re looking for someone to play anything, you’re looking for Kary.
Bobby – Bass Guitar, Vocals
Bobby has been involved in music almost all his life, singing in church at 5 years old and forming bands from the 6th grade on. Bobby is equally comfortable in all styles of music from 50’s & 60’s classics to current country and anything in between. Having a very dynamic vocal ability, he can bring a sentimental tear to your eye on a love ballad or pull you to the dance floor with an up tempo rocker. Bobby’s quick wit always makes him a favorite when he is performing.
Zeke is probably the hardest worker in the Marshall Law Band. He never stops moving, whether he’s changing instruments or clogging or just jumping around; the man just can’t stand still. He not only plays the instruments listed, but also plays dulcimer and banjo. He’s a two time Ohio State Champion Square Dance Caller and a graduate from Ashland College with a Bachelor of Science degree and is a teacher at a local high school. He has won many awards for his playing and dancing, plus won several awards as leader of the Sagecoach Band in the 80’s & 90’s. If you’re looking for versatility, Zeke is the man to call.
Danny – Pedal Steel, MIDI Instruments
Danny has truly been a great addition to the Marshall Law Band. Since his first show with the group in 2015, his outstanding musical talent has improved the overall sound of the band. He joined the band full time January 1st, 2017, and currently plays with his group, Hot Cargo. Skilled with the steel guitar, he can also make his instrument sound just like a piano, organ, an even an orchestra. Danny has been playing music ever since he was 18 years old and is self taught playing the steel and electric guitar. His first gig was at the Cactus Bar in Canton, Ohio and since then, he has played with groups Nashville Bound-Country Palace and Country Cut-Ups, plus has opened for Del Reeves, Jeanie Pruitt, and the Statler Brothers.
